The Alaska Railroad - Special Event Trains

The Alaska Railroad's got the blues. Ride the rails to Seward and take in the sweet sounds of The Rebel Blues - along with a righteous spread of appetizers, a couple of drink tickets, no host bar, BBQ, and one night's accommodations.

The roundtrip Anchorage to Seward train adventure treats guests to Turnagain Arm before heading deep into the lush alpine regions of the Chugach National Forest on its way to the shores of Resurrection Bay.

Cost: $249 per person/double occupancy (Must be 21 years of age or older) Additional rates are available (single $309/triple $233/quad $224)

Dig into barbecue and more blues in Seward. Beginning at 7pm, we'll be serving up dogs and burgers hot off the grill, baked beans, potato salad, a no host bar, and more Blues at 9pm.

Complimentary shuttle service provided from participating hotels until 12 midnight Saturday night. On Sunday, take the train back to Anchorage.

You can find the magic of the holiday season aboard the Alaska Railroad Holiday Train. Caroling, storytelling, and some of the best scenery the Alaska Railroad has to offer are sure to put you in the holiday spirit as the train journeys from Anchorage to Seward. Highlights include a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Spend the afternoon enjoying the Seward Holiday Festival, cruising Resurrection Bay or touring the Alaska SeaLife Center.

Like tinsel and candy canes or fresh blankets of snow and warm crackling fires, trains and Christmas just go together. Treat the kids to a most enchanting ride aboard the Alaska Railroad to the Colony Christmas Festival in Palmer. Pick up Santa on the way to historic Palmer and enjoy a merry time telling stories, sipping hot chocolate, and delighting in a blanket of scenic wonders.

For Easter, treat the whole family to an unforgettable train adventure to Portage and back along scenic Turnagain Arm. This guided rail special features the Easter Bunny, lots of candy, holiday activities (crafts and coloring contests) for the kids, and prize drawings. The ride includes a wholesome boxed lunch and an Easter treat.
