Nature Hike in Girdwood

Enjoy a Nature Hike in Girdwood while exploring part of the Historical Iditarod Trail. This trip operates in all weather conditions. No experience necessary. This is great for ages 7-70 years old.

This tour is 3 hours long and includes granola bar snack and bottled water.
This 3-hour hike includes: snack; a naturalist guided 5-mile (roundtrip) hike along the Winner Creek Trail. Time and enthusiasm permitting, this moderate & informative hike consists of a very unique Hand Tram crossing and walk over the Winner Creek Gorge.
Trips start & finish at The Hotel Alyeska. A Naturalist guide will point out and discuss the flora and fauna of North America's northern-most temperate rainforest.
In the company of a naturalist, you will:
- Nibble on edible leaves, flowers & berries;
- Explore traditional & contemporary herb lore;
- Identify bird song & animal behaviors; and
- Enjoy stories about Native and Alaskan history.
...you may even see a moose! When blueberry season is in full swing, the trail is blooming with scrumptious delights, sure to please anyone.
WHAT DO I WEAR/BRING?
Cotton attire is Not recommended. Please wear comfortable, warm clothes, dressing in layers (fleece jacket, rain jacket/pants, gloves, wool/fleece hat, sunglasses, ball cap) hiking boots or walking shoes,backpack and a camera.
