Whittier

Nestled at the head of the Passage Canal on the western edge of Prince William Sound, the Whittier welcomes a numbers of cruise ships each summer. While there maybe less that 500 year round residents, this town is still one of Alaska’s most important cities. Established during World War 2 as a military supply port, today Whittier’s economy is comprised mainly of shipping and port related jobs, fishing and tourism.
