Fly over the lush Susitna Valley and enter the ice age world of the Alaska Range. See Mt. McKinley and the Ruth Gorge: the Ruth Gorge, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, is the deepest trench in North America.

Experience the Don Sheldon amphitheater surrounded by granite peaks and cascading icefalls. Your pilot narrates the tour, pointing out wildlife and geological interests.

You can also choose to have a glacier landing as part of your tour!

Book the South Face McKinley Tour as an add-on to the Talkeetna Getaway for spectacular winter fun.

You could also make your own weekend getaway to Talkeetna. Book a Roundtrip on the Aurora Winter Train from Anchorage, enjoy the flight and stay at a comfy B&B Saturday night in Talkeetna, and then catch the train back on Sunday. This trip is also possible using the winter Hurricane Turn:

The 1914 lodge, built out of local logs, is still in use as the lounge, lobby and gift store. The Moose Lodge was added in 1980.

A world-class museum located in the heart of Alaska’s largest city, the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center is the largest museum in Alaska and serves as a cultural center for the community and state. Day tour includes admission to the Museum and 10% off gift shop purchases.

Highlights

Alaska Gallery: This 15,000 square-foot gallery devoted to Alaska's history is located on the museum's second floor. The Alaska Gallery displays more than one thousand objects and is the finest presentation of Alaskan history and ethnology in the state.
Art of the North: The Anchorage Museum Association has a wide-ranging collection of art that reflects Alaska and the circumpolar North. Seven galleries on the Museum's ground floor are devoted to this collection.
