Arrive in beautiful downtown Anchorage and spend the night at the Anchorage Comfort Inn, within easy walking distance to the Alaska Railroad depot, Town Square, stores and restaurants. The Anchorage Comfort Inn features a complimentary continental breakfast. Local taxis and hotel shuttle are readily available for transfers to airport and depot.
The next day, you'll depart from the Anchorage depot at 8:15 am and experience the world's best train ride onboard the Denali Star train. Arrive in Denali at 3:45 pm. Spend two nights in Denali at the Grande Denali Lodge. The hotel shuttle will take you to your hotel. Package includes the Tundra Wilderness Tour, a 6-8 hour narrated bus tour in Denali National Park. Optional Denali tours include Alaska Cabin Nite, white-water rafting, backcountry jeep safaris, and flight seeing. Any of these tours may be added to your package for an additional cost. Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Anchorage on your own. Visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center, 9am - 6pm daily. Stay the night at the Comfort Inn.
Day 2: Coastal Classic Train - Anchorage to Seward, 6:45 am - 11:05 am. Take a stroll through downtown Seward before departing on the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise aboard the new m/v Aialik Voyager. Enjoy a grilled salmon dinner onboard. (3-9 pm) Stay overnight at the Seward Windsong Lodge.
Day 3: Enjoy The Real Alaska Tour, includes dog sled ride, lunch at an Alaskan roadhouse, and Exit Glacier Tour, 11:05 am - 5:00 pm. Coastal Classic Train - Seward to Anchorage, 6:00 pm - 10:15 pm. Stay overnight at the Comfort Inn. Enjoy an evening stoll along Ship Creek behind your hotel and watch the fisherman reel in the salmon.
Day 4: Denali Star Train to Talkeetna, 8:15 am - 11:05 am. Mahay's Wilderness Jetboat Adventure, noon - 2pm. For a little extra, opt for an afternoon flightseeing tour to Mt. McKinley. Visit downtown Talkeetna and enjoy first class accommodations at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.
Day 5: Denali Star Train to Denali, 11:25 am - 3:45 pm. Spend the night at the Grande Denali Lodge.
Day 6: Travel deep into the backcountry of Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. (6-8 hours) Overnight at Grande Denali Lodge.
Day 7: Return to Anchorage on the Denali Star Train, 12:40 pm - 8:15 pm. Stay overnight at the Comfort Inn.
