Thursday through Monday: October 2007 through April 2008
Thursday - Friday: Spend the first two nights in Anchorage and make time to visit the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, the Alaska Aviation Museum or take an easy walk along the Cook Inlet on the Coastal Trail. Be sure to check out the concerts at the Performing Arts Center.
Saturday: Board the Aurora Winter Train for Fairbanks. Enjoy the serene winter landscape as you travel north through birch and spruce forests. Keep an eye out for wildlife and the northern lights.
Overnight in Fairbanks.
Sunday: Take off on a flight to discover winter in Alaska's arctic. Fly over the Yukon River Valley, the Arctic Circle and beyond just south of the Gates of the Arctic National Park. Participate in a ceremonial Arctic Circle landing at a wilderness community. Learn the fascinating story of the Brooks Mountain Range wilderness and see the trans-Alaska-pipeline. At days end you'll return for another night in Fairbanks.
