CHARITABLE GIVING
The Alaska Railroad has been a vital part of Alaska's communities since its construction began in 1915. To continue its tradition, the Alaska Railroad budgets funds for corporate contributions to railbelt communities and organizations which impacts the widest segment of our population. ARRC supports charitable non-profits that enhance educational opportunities, community quality of life, and economic health, as well as civic non-profits that provide community services and business development.
Those who wish to apply for a monetary contribution must fill out a corporate contributions request form. The form asks the applicant to define the purpose and goals of the organization, other sources of contributions, geographic area served, and a detailed account of how the funds will be used. Be specific.
Other information that organizations must also include in its packet is available in the ARRC Contribution Guidelines and Procedures. Binders, staples or elaborate packaging are unnecessary. Submit only one copy. Applications are reviewed twice yearly by the ARRC Citizens Advisory Board.
As an alternative to cash grants, ARRC may decide to donate an in-kind contribution. This could include trip passes, used ties or equipment, or other surplus material. Links to in-kind contribution forms are provided below. Contribution of company assets such as tank cars must be approved by the Railroad Board of Directors.
