Journeying along old mining and game trails, your adventure begins with two breathtaking 360 degree overlooks providing stunning views of the Alaska Range, Mt. Healy, Otto Lake and surrounding Healy Valley. Wildlife is often sighted along the way.

Then navigate narrow trails down to the creek bed where you spend time splashing through the water (weather dependent).

Tour covers approximately 10 miles with about 1.5 hours on the trail. Tour operates during rain or shine. Note: This tour is NOT recommended for people with back or neck problems or pregnant women.

This unforgettable adventure goes much farther than any other tour in the area, stopping just a couple of miles from the fast-flowing Teklanika River that prevented McCandless from returning alive.

This tour also provides you with a fascination discussion of McCandless’ fatal journey, numerous viewpoints of McKinley, wildlife viewing and a memorable campfire meal.
