Denali
Established as Mount McKinley National Park on Feb 26, 1917, the original park was designated a wilderness area and incorporated into Denali National Park and Preserve, which has six million acres of wildland with dynamic landscape that supports a number of different species.
Enjoy wildflowers that grace the summer slopes, animals such as grizzly bears, caribou, wolves, dall sheep and moose and the beautiful mountain range. Guests may enjoy sightseeing, backpacking, and mountaineering.
Also catch a glimpse at North America’s highest peak, Mt. McKinley. To access the park, most visitors travel by bus.
There are a number of different tours our guests may enjoy, from the 6-8 hour Tundra Wilderness Tour, to going 95 miles in on the Backcountry Adventure!

Denali is a distance from other towns such as Healy, and there is no public transportation available. Hotels booked through the Alaska Railroad provide transfers from the depot. If you choose to stay at a hotel that is not booked through the Alaska Railroad, check with the hotel about transportation from the train depot.
