Alpine Hike on Alyeska Glacier

This trip is great for families, groups & solo travelers. Located in Girdwood, Alaska, the Alyeska Glacier is nestled in Glacier Bowl on the Chugach Mountains. It overlooks breathtaking views of the Turnagain Arm and towers the alpine peaks.

You will be marveled when you are traveling on a snow covered glacier during the Alaskan Midnight Sun. Glacier Hiking guests ride the Scenic Alyeska Tram up to 2,300 feet & back down to The Hotel Alyeska near sea level.
From the upper mountain tram, you will hike a scenic ridgeline that is surrounded by 7 Glaciers in the Girdwood Valley. With outstanding views of the glacier, you will be making photo & rest stops along the way.
Hike for 2 hours, with a distance of 1 mile roundtrip, and an 800 foot elevation gain. At the Glacier's edge, gear up with climbing harnesses, ropes and/or crampons, NEOS over-boots and learn about glacier travel before heading onto the glacier itself.
Trip includes all equipment, naturalist glacier guides, tram ticket, 5:1 ratio and interpretive natural history, ecology and glaciology discussions.
A granola bar snack and water is provided. This is a moderate to strenuous activity for ages 10-70. No experience is necessary.
Trips operate in all weather conditions.
WHAT DO I WEAR/BRING?
Please wear comfortable, warm clothes, dressing in layers (fleece jacket, rain jacket/pants, gloves, wool/fleece hat, sunglasses, ball cap) hiking boots or walking shoes, backpack and camera. Note: Cotton attire IS NOT recommended
