Talkeetna Pie-Making Package $199 ppdo

Saturday board the Aurora Winter Train for a breathtaking trip through boreal forest and open marsh to Talkeetna, Alaska.

Keep your eye out for moose which are frequently seen in the winter. 

Upon arrival in Talkeetna, you’ll be met by a representative from Talkeetna Roadhouse.

When you walk in the door of the Roadhouse, you’ll be transported back to your grandmother’s kitchen, with smells of baking bread and yummy sweet things. 

Check-in and relax or have lunch. 

The pie-making class begins at 3 pm. Trisha, the proprietress of the Talkeetna Roadhouse has been making pies for 20-some years.

She will help you learn the secret of pie crust as she walks you through her process.

Each participant will take home a worldfamous Talkeetna Roadhouse pie.After finishing your class, choose dinner at one of the local establishments in Talkeetna.

Sunday enjoy a hearty breakfast at the Roadhouse to start your day.

You have plenty of time to take a cross-country ski or snowshoe along the Susitna River before you climb aboard the Aurora Winter Train for your scenic and relaxing ride back to Anchorage.

 

Price: $199 per person, based on double occupancy.

Package includes round-trip rail Anchorage to Talkeetna on the Aurora Winter Train, an overnight stay at the Talkeetna Roadhouse, and registration for Saturday’s pie-making class, including one pie to take home. Does not include meals or optional activities.
