Travel Alaska in 2020

PLAN YOUR SUMMER 2020 ALASKA ADVENTURE

Summer in Alaska tends to be a popular time to visit, and for good reason. Wildlife is active, icy blue glaciers pop against green landscapes, and summer's mild temperatures and ample daylight are perfect for exploring the Land of the Midnight Sun.

SEE ALASKA BY RAIL

Summer is also the busiest time of the year here at the Alaska Railroad. Mid-May to mid-September, we offer daily summer trains connecting the full length of our tracks -- from the port town of Seward on the southern coast up to the Interior hub city of Fairbanks. Along the way, our trains serve a diverse mix of Alaska's most popular destinations. Make Anchorage your home base, and venture out to explore north and south of the city on day trips to Talkeetna, Spencer Glacier and Prince William Sound. Or, plan a week-long tour of Alaska's national parks by train, exploring Denali and the Kenai Fjords.

ENJOY A JOURNEY AS SPECTACULAR AS THE DESTINATIONS

No matter how far you journey aboard the Alaska Railroad, rest assured you'll be traveling in comfort. Two onboard service classes offer passengers options; our premium GoldStar Service features glass-dome ceilings and includes bar service and freshly prepared meals. Local guides share the stories behind the sights as our trains wind along towering peaks and cascading glaciers.
