ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. Book an excursion, or explore shops, museums and restaurants at your leisure. Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 2

Board the Coastal Class Train for a breathtaking ride along Turnagain Arm and through scenic Grandview. Upon arrival in Seward, explore the charming port town. The Real Alaska Tour promises authentic adventures, including a dog sled ride, lunch at an Alaska roadhouse and a tour to Exit Glacier. Overnight in Seward. 

 

Day 3

Embark on a cruise of Kenai Fjords National Park in search of glaciers, whales, sea lions and more. The onboard Park Ranger ensures you'll stay informed and entertained. That evening depart for Anchorage on the Coastal Classic Train. Overnight in Anchorage. 

 

Day 4

Get out and explore! The Alaska Railroad offers a wide range of excursions from Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 5

Visit one of the many museums and cultural centers in Anchorage. 

 

Day 6

Ride the train to Girdwood, where you'll disembark for a short transfer to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. After seeing brown and black bears, moose, wolves and more reboard the train for a short ride to rail-access-only Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop and a guided raft float down Spencer and Placer River. Overnight in Anchorage. 

 

Day 7

In the morning, depart for Talkeetna aboard the Denali Star Train. See Denali by air on an Alaska Range flightseeing tour. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. 

 

Day 8

Experience the summer version of Alaska’s state sport: dryland dog mushing. Overnight in Talkeetna.

 

Day 9

Journey to Denali National Park aboard the Denali Star Train. Enjoy an evening of rip-roarin' entertainment and a hearty meal at a local dinner theater. Overnight in Denali.  

 

Day 10

Embark on a wildlife Denali bus tour with an expert naturalist guide. Wildlife sightings are common, so be prepared with your camera. Overnight in Denali.  

 

Day 11

Explore Denali on a guided Jeep tour before riding the train for an evening arrival at the northern terminus of the Alaska Railroad: Fairbanks.

 

Day 12

Take a tour on the Riverboat Discovery, a historic sternwheeler, for a glimpse of life in Interior Alaska; see dog sledding, an Alaska Native village and much more. Later that day, travel above the Arctic Circle on a flightseeing tour. Overnight in Fairbanks.
